Cathédrale St-Pierre will host seven performances of “Stabat Mater”, an exceptional musical arrangement by Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, from 10 to 18 May 2025. The production, organised by the
Grand Théâtre de Genève, will be stage directed by Romeo Castellucci, with Barbara Hannigan as musical director.

The inside of the cathedral will undergo a major transformation for this large-scale production. As a result, the cathedral and its towers will, unfortunately, be partially closed for several days between 23 April and
20 May.

The cathedral’s archaeological site will remain open, although the opening hours will be shortened on some days. Thursday and Sunday services will be held in the chapelle des Macchabées.
